Wisdom Teeth Removal Epping
What are wisdom teeth?
Wisdom teeth are large teeth, otherwise known as molars, that come through well after your adult teeth between the ages of around 17-24. Some people don’t get them, and some others have no issues as they come through. However, some may experience wisdom teeth that are ‘impacted.’ This is when the wisdom teeth become stuck in the jaw, or are coming through in a direction that is pushing on other teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth leave your mouth susceptible to bacteria and plaque build-up. As they are difficult to keep clean, wisdom teeth can trigger associated problems such as cysts, tumours, infection and gum disease. Not to mention it can be incredibly painful. When wisdom teeth are impacted, it is best to see a dentist to see whether they need to be removed. We are offering quality Wisdom Teeth Removal service in whole Epping.
What are the symptoms of impacted wisdom teeth?
- Intense pain and/or soreness in the back of the mouth and/or jaw
- Stiffness in the jaw
- Infection in the mouth
- Facial swelling or gum line swelling
- Feeling sick or generally unwell
Wisdom teeth removal process
Wisdom teeth can either be removed under general anaesthetic or in the chair at the dental clinic. Often the wisdom tooth removal process is less complex than initially anticipated by our patients. For many patients the removal process can be done safely and simply without surgery. This will need to be determined during your initial consultation with Dr Lung. We encourage all patients to organise a wisdom tooth removal consultation to determine the complexity of the procedure.
