You May Have Heard of ‘All-on-4’ but Have you Heard of ‘All-on-6’?

All-on-6 Epping

There are times, depending on the individual, when six (all-on-6) dental implants may be required instead of four which is typically undertaken in the All-on-4 procedure.

What is All-on-6?

All-on-6 is very similar to the All-on-4 procedure in that it is an innovative treatment designed to replace missing or damaged teeth by placing six acrylic on titanium implants in each jaw to replace the missing tooth root. Implants are comfortable and functional – they are fixed in place and will look and feel like your natural teeth.

This modern, revolutionary treatment can be used in either the upper or lower jaw (or both) to support immediate fixed replacement teeth.

The technique was invented by Dr Paulo Malo and is proven to be a highly successful, relatively inexpensive prosthetic teeth option for those who have multiple missing or damaged teeth.

By using six implants you will enjoy the benefits of excellent support and durability of the implant teeth.

Do I need All on Six?

Dr Jeremy Lung has helped people of all ages, with different circumstances, refresh and rejuvenate their smile. You may consider All-on-6 if you have:

•                Unsuitable dentures

Ill-fitting or loose dentures can be very uncomfortable. If you are experiencing pain or speech difficulties due to your dentures All-on-6 could be a good option for you.

•                Missing or damaged teeth

If you have significant amount of missing, broken, loose or decayed teeth, or even a full arch of missing teeth, All-on-6 might be suitable for you. Tooth extraction and replacement which can be done at comparatively low cost with All-on-6.

•                Bone loss

All-on-6 can be a successful technique when you have severe bone resorption to attain maximum stability. The technique can be applied to either upper or lower jaw, dependent upon bone volume and density.

What is the All-on-6 procedure?

In your first consultation, Dr Jeremy Lung will examine your mouth and jaw bone density to assess whether you are a candidate for the All-on-6 treatment. He will also explain All-on-6 in depth, so you can understand how the procedure works, what you need to do to prepare for surgery, and the recovery process. He will also take an X-ray and a CBCT scan (3D digital imaging) to gain a better picture of whether you would be a good candidate for surgery.

If the treatment is right for you, Dr Lung will take some impressions of your teeth, which will then be sent to a laboratory so that your dental bridge can be created.

In your next appointment, the All-on-6 process can begin. Some dentists can perform the surgery in one session. However, where Dr Jeremy Lung differs is that he does not follow this method as you cannot pre-determine where the bone will heal. He ensures the highest possible chance of success by extracting teeth, waiting for the mouth to heal, and then placing the new implants to reduce risk of infection, avoid the need for grafting, and maintain healthy bone.
